Mondi - Your sustainable partner

The existence, success and future prospects of our business is directly linked to the well-being of the people that work for us, the health of the communities in which we operate, and the environment upon which we so heavily rely.

Doing business in a sustainable way is deeply rooted in the Mondi corporate culture. An awareness of ecological, economic and social responsibility shapes not only the company’s actions, from reforestation and the procurement of raw materials to their industrial processing, but also its brand policy and marketing activities.

Climate change

We recognise the significance of climate change and are committed to minimising our contribution by optimising energy consumption, using renewable energy sources, and taking advantage of the role of our forests in storing carbon and combating climate change.

  • 25% reduction in specific CO2e emissions (per tonne of saleable product) since 2004
  • 58% of fuel consumption from renewable sources
  • 4.3 million tonnes of CO2e emissions avoided by carbon sequestration of our plantations, and by selling green electricity, heat and fuels; using recovered paper as a raw material; and substituting natural gas with biogas
